Dutch language doctoral essay submitted to Rotterdam University in which candidate researches daily life, experiences, fear and suppression as experienced by [european, e.g. dutch] children imprisonewd in japanese concentrationcamps during the Second Worldwar in the Pacific, japanese oppression, lack of food, brutal incidents and terror. It includes the Bersiap period after the liberation in 1945, the repatriation to the Netherlands (an unknown fatherland), the arrival and rejection by the dutch population, housing problems and living conditions, generally turning into stress syndromes. Still an important collection of field data gethered about a dark period of personal histories. Very fine copy.
