Leiden, Rijksmuseum voor Volkenkunde, 1967 Orig. pictorial coloured wrappers, stapled. [10]pp. of introduction and exentsive description to pieces exhibited. [18]pp. with num. col. ills. with captions in dutch, incl. centre-fold plate being a Panorama of Nagasaki harbour with dutch and chinese ships (technique: colour on paper, end 18th century), full-page coloured illustration inside lower outer wrapper.
A brochure/'catalogue' with as topic japanese folk-art, preceded by a 2 page essay on the japanese essayist and art-historian Yanagi Sūtsu (1889-1961), the discoverer of the then almost extinct japanese folk-art, which is followed by a [4]pp. essay by "C.O.", on various forms of folk-art as (:) textiles (kasuri, katagami, turoshiki, kogin- and sashiko embroideries), ceramics, wood- and lacquer work, folkpaintings and toys. Very fine copy.
