General map of the Kingdom, handcoloured in the outlines with geographical positions in right and left margin (verso blank). Atlas contains tog. 13 double-spread maps, of which 2 folding-out (Overall-map and map of North-Brabant Province), each map richly handcoloured in the outlines, Provincial maps (11) each with their provincial handcoloured Coat-of-Arms in upper corner, extensive statistical information printed in lower corner of each map; last map depicts. dutch colonial possessions: The West-indian colonies: Caribbean Islands, Suriname AND the Goldcoast (Guinea/Ashanti) printed at upper half; colonial Indonesia printed at lower half of double-sheet. Bi-lingual text: dutch/french.
Beautifully produced and very detailed atlas of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, published by command of King William I. Contains an overall-map of the Kingdom(folding-out), the, then, 11 Provinces (Incl. the Duchy of Luxemburg) and the dutch East-and West-Indian colonial possessions (incl. a map of Goldcoast) at end. A very fine complete copy with contemp. handcolouring. Rare. (Copy present in Dutch Royal Library, KB, lacks four maps: Overall map, maps of the provinces Utrecht, Gelderland and Overijssel!).
