This Hakka glossary is not only important for the knowledge of the dialect as spoken in Kwantung Province, but also for the kowledge of the dialect as spoken by the chinese immigrants from this province, who worked a.o. as coolies in dutch colonial Indonesia on the Tin-winning Islands of Bangka and Billiton. Van der Stadt's "Hakka Woordenboek"(Hakka glossary)leans heavily on the first edn. of this classical work, 1905. A good copy. Rare. (some light rubbing to spine and extremities of boards, ex-lib. stamp on recte of first blank and in corner ot ti.-p.).
