Depict. sceneries of the dutch Royal Navy at war in the Pacific, period 1939-1945, of which 1 card depicts the famous Battle of the Java-Sea: an allied flotilla under command of Rear-Admiral K[arel] Doorman attacked the Japanese war-fleet. The historic signal from Doorman for the attack was:"Ik val aan, volgt mij"(I attack, follow me). Fine complete set in its original envelope. (envelope with some light wear to extremities only).

The Twin Screw Turnine Steamer "Statendam", tonnage 29510, a fine passenger-vessel of the Holland-America Line, of which the hull was constructed by Harland & Wolff, Belfast, went into service in 1929. This Deck-plan supplies ample information and is very detailed. A very good copy.

Dutch language historic novel based on life and times of Jacques Cassard of Nantes (1679-1740), a french able seman and later commanding a frigate as Lieutenant, at the time famous for his career as a licenced Buccaneer (by the french King Louis XIV, 1712-1714) during the Spanish War of Succession. Cassard was sent on a mission to the Caribbean , where he attacked and looted the Portuguese colony of Cabo Verde, Montserrat and Antiqua (Great Britain) and the Dutch colonies of St. Eustace, Curaçao and Suriname. Cassards maritime life was ended by the Utrecht treaty of 1715. Very good copy, NO dustjacket.
