Dutch language journal, published 4 times a year, with numerous contributions relating to dutch maritime history, training of maritime and navy personnel, hydrography, etc., changing name several times. First series have been published between 1840-1865. Present in this run last part of first seires, 1861-1865; first part of second series, 1866-1880, which include a number of important contributions by P.A. Leupe, being reports on dutch seventeenth/eighteenth century voyages to so-called "Zuidland" or, "New Holland" (volume 27) and further contributions on piracy and privateering in dutch colonial indonesian Archipelago. Good set. (dutch parliamentary paper ex-lib. label to f.e.p. of each volume with modest lib. stamp to tails of title-pages, f.e.p.'s foxed (contents very clean), some light shaving to bindings, spine of one volume reinforced with a clearview plastic strip., one volume in parts as published in a modern clothbacked portfolio with ties).

Dutch-english language Hymn played by the Titanic orchestra at the moment the Passengeship "that could not sink", the TITANIC went down after a collision with an iceberg. The Hymn "Nearer my God to Thee". was printed and published shortly after the disaster by command the Salvation Army. Very well preserved. Very rare.

Born in Gelderland province, with as final rank a navy captain. His most important command was of a squadron of 6 frigates patrolling Gibraltar Strait and Morocco coast1772-1774. This study supplies information on the social and financial position of dutch navy officers in the 18th century and [diplomatic] relations between King Mohammed ben Abdallah of Morocco (1757-1790) and the dutch Republic. Very good copy.
