Odd issue of this dutch language irregularly published bulletin by the eldest dutch Association representing and defending public rights and support for former p.o.w., civilians (men, women and children) held captive in japanese concentrationcamps in the Dutch East Indies and elsewhere during the Pacific war. Services include support to those families repatriating to the Netherlands after the war. This association was founded in 1970, and was, unfortunately lees known amongst the dutch public.

After a general note in which compiler states that due to lack of archivalia, both japanese (destroyed at the end of the war) and indonesian, information supplied has been takn from dutch archivalia and diaries from those dutch and eurasians not subject to internment in Japanese camps (gross estimated on 120.00 to 200.00 dutch and eurasian individuals), extensive information is supplied on life outside internment- and P.O.W. camps, e.g. general registration by the japanese military administration, growing fear and instability of individuals concerned, support, indo-committees, japanese repression, biographical notes to authors of diaries consulted, housing, japanese laws and regulations, warrants and interrogations by the Kenpeitai (japanese secret military police), prisions, health and medical care, nutrition, contacts with japanese and those family members interned, personal relationships, the japanese surrender, peace and its aftermath. It includes the testimony by the late Kim Hak-soon, revealing for the very first time that she used to be a 'Comfort Woman' for Japanese soldiers. Very fine copy.
