The story of the war-volunteer Ronald Searle, sent to Singapore after his training, taken prisoner of war after the fall of Singapore and finally sent to Siam to work on the notorious Burma Railway, at the end of the war returned as a prisoner to Changi Prison. His drawings made on-the-spot are impressive and need almost no extra text to emphasize the terrible japanese regime in the slave camps. A pregnant piece of war history. Very good copy.
