A review of the first law-suit with as plaintinffs, the Ambonese population, represented by the lawyers of the Republic of the South Moluccas, or Republik Maluku Selatan (R.M.S.) vs. the "Koninklijke Paketvaart Maatschappij", K.P.M. being the most relevant documents bearing on the case. The heart of the matter was in fact if the South Moluccas were, in view of the transfer of sovereignty, agreed in december 1949, to the Republic of Indonesia, already an independent state. (the proclamation of independence for the South Moluccas was previously announced). If so, the Royal Steam Packet Navigation Company, K.P.M., liable of collaboration with the Republic Indonesia to overthrow the R.M.S., as there were no other means of transport of Indonesian armed forces to the Moluccas, than by this shipping-company. A very interesting brochure, still of historical value. Very good copy.

Author concludes that both promises have been broken, thus causing repression of the South Moluccans in Holland and the Papuans in Irian Jaya. Very good copy. Scarce.

A nice run of this dutch language illustrated rather irregularly published political newspaper supporting the struggle for independence and home-rule for the Republic of the South Moluccas (RMS) and for the Papuans in West-Papua, former dutch Territory of New Guinea. The [legal] political claim by the representatives, e.g. the South Moluccan Government in exile, of the South Moluccan ethnic minority in the Netherlands caused much political upheaval in dutch Paliamant and Government during an extended time and times again, occasionally leading to fierce demonstrations and violence. Newspaper published b the "Stichting Door de Eeuwen Trouw" (DDET: Society öf Perpetual Loyalty" between the dutch and indonesians). Well preserved. (LACKS nRS. 1-15; 17-33; 35-39; 46-171; 173-175; 191; 195 and 234. Some occasional fraying to edges, some occasional yellowing).

Report of field research undertaken within the Framework of the Frobenius Expedition in the Taluti and Manusele areas of Central Seram. Emphasis has been laid on the investigation of religion and spiritual Life, as these aspects were undergoing rapid at the time and population, contrary to the days of O.D. Tauern's visit (1911-1912), was quite willing to discuss them. After and introductory chapter on the composition and distribution of the population of Central Seram, a survey is given of ethnic groups and their social organization. Next, a description is given of the world view, the concept of man, origin myths, spririt belief, and shamanism among the ethnic groups of Sima Sima (a sub-group of the Manusela), Wahaerama and Tanabaru on the one hand, and and of the Nusawele, Hatuolo and Huaulu on the other. Particular attentionis paid to shamanism among the Sima Sima. Finally, several aspects of the religion of Central Seram are compared with those elsewhere in Seram and in Indonesia in general.
