A collection of dutch language indonesian myths and legends. Originally published by a dutch army-magazine "Legercontact", on behalf of dutch troops serving with "A"-Division, Java, commander Major-General W. Baay. Java 1945-1950, during the dutch-indonesian armed dispute. Carefully separated from the original magazine, skilfully bound. Curious and rare. Very good condition.

Collection of tog. 15 tragi-comic stories, of which 4 have been suppressed in the second edition of 1950 (erreneously called FIRST edition). Stories describe "Tangsi-life" (life in the barracks) & on patrol of the common soldier (the "Fuselier"), of the Royal Dutch colonial East Indian Army, KNIL in by-gone days, in which the low social status of troops in Indonesia is clearly described. This copy is the true FIRST edition published with Bandung imprint 1930, by author. The edition of 1950, is erreneously stated to be the first edition in all relevant bibliographies. NOT present in any dutch library. Very rare unique copy of the FIRST edition. (wrappers heavily wrinkled and dust-soiled and dog-eared, title-page probably missing although there are NO traces of removal!).

Privately published collection of tog. 60 popular dutch songs with words in bahasa Indonesia and sundanese as explained in author's note to the glossary at end. This publication is present in KITLV library-collection but erreneously dated as circa 1940, at this time bahasa Indonesia, lingua franca for independent Indonesia, was not yet introduced. Buur, 115 however calls for the correct estimated date of publication. Three editions/versons have been published, all with different pagination. A very good copy. Rare.

With as theme the sending-out to Holland of the boy for further education, incl. i.a. notes on local paganism and efferts to christianization of the local population. Good copy. Scarce. (lower right corner of front wrapper clipped).

Romanized javanese language adventure novel partly set in late ninetenth century India and in dutch East India, by which a historic picture is painted of Sultan Akbar, religion and society. Originally published in dutch in 1872. Very good copy. Rare.
