Dutch language novelpartly set in the Preanger regency, Java at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century which includes strong biographical and historic data about some dutch families, runming Tea estates in the Preanger, based upon archives kept by the dutch couple Rudolf Kerkhoven and Jenny Roosegaarde Bisschop, entrepreneurs of a remote Tea-estate "Gamboeng", Preanger regency, Western Java. Together with relatives as the Van Der Hucht famili, they managed creating a conglomerate of estates within a few decades. Novel includes information about advanced economic policies, proper wages and labour conditions on behalf of javanese emplyees. Very good copy.

Haasse, in which a selection of autobiographical texts has been made public about author's autobiographical scattered recollection of life in the former Dutch East Indies/Indonesia. It precedes the complete edition, first pub lished Amsterdam, Querido, 1993! Can be considered as the first pre-publication texts. The term "Parang Sawat" is used to express the multiple colour applications in javanese batik process. Very difficult to locate. Very good copy. Rare.
