A complete set in original wrappers of this famous literary-cultural dutch colonial magazine, irregulary published: bi- three-monthly. This dutch literary-cultural monthly has been published in Indonesia during the turbulent years after the Second World War, the period of the dutch-indonesian dispute and after Indonesia's independence in 1949. It took an Indonesian-centered point-of-view and looked for cooperation between dutch and indonesian authors. Due to the first so-called "Police" action a mixed editor-ship became impossible. Nevertheless indonesian authors as Pramoedya Ananta Toer, Idrus, Mochtar Lubis, Chairil Anwar and others did not deny the magazine their cooperation. Their contributions appeared together with those of Maria Dermoût, Beb Vuyk, Tjalie Robinson, C.J. Resink, et.al. Also translations of Indonesian folkpoetry has been published from Dayak, Batak and Toraja origin. The magazine has been illustrated by both dutch and indonesian artists. A complete and very good set of this still very important periodica. Rare. Rare.
