Copy of the FIRST EDITION of this famous three detective stories set in ancient Imperial China. After publication of this novel Van Gulik travelled to his new posting in New Delhi, India, from HongKong, via Singapore, Penang and Rangoon whihere he met Dr. Franz Kuhn, german scholar and sinologue, Very good tight and clean copy. Rare.
