"The story is abount Little Red Guards in a south China coastal village.During their winter vacation these Little Red Guards of the Red Star Primary School, helped by the village Party branch to organize for patrolling the seashore, one day find a suspicious rubber boat on the beach. Led in a search by the Party branch, they soon discover its mate and proceed to cooperate with the village militia to capture both the intruding enemy agent and the local fish-dealer's wife, who is in collusion with him, as they are trying to escape by sea." (introduction on verso of front wrapper). An interesting piece of chinese communist propaganda indeed. Very good copy. Rare.

Partsan T. Sung. With 50 small coloured stiff cards pasted-in, 8x6,4cm. each, with extensive captions in dutch at tails, 15 large black-white plates tipped-in, all after watercolours by Julius Wentscher.
Dutch language promotional album, published by a dutch Cultivation company "Goalpara" (Geo Wehry & Co.), serving to spread more knowledge about China and the Chinese in many aspects, thus arousing a much more favourable attitude of the [european] colonial society in dutch colonial Indonesia towards the chinese in Indonesia and their homeland. The Goalpara Cultuur Maatschappij was founded in 1892, with as main seat Batavia, and was dissolved in 1982. Very good copy, complete with all the small stiff paper illustrations pasted-in. Rare. (some minimal wear to spine-end due to shelving, top-end of spine a bit knocked).

English language promotional and illustrated Souvenir Album, presented by the "Java-China-Japan-Lijn" (J.C.J.L., later called "Royal Interocian Lines"), featuring mysterious China photographed by Ellen Thorbecke and illustrated by Friedrich H. Schiff. Good attractive copy with untrimmed front edge. Rare. (minimal ongoing tear to front margin, skilfully restored, upper left corner of outer back-cover minimally knocked, not touching coloured iimage at tail, a bit a dull copy, but still attractive and complete).
