According to the preface this lavishly illustrated guide has been published upon the occasion of A: the re-opening of the Great World Fairs in the Western Hemisphere, and B: the commemmoration of the 26th Centennial of the accession to the throne of [their] First Emeror Zinmu..."2,600 years of history muset have evolved a peculiar civilization to be found in no other parts of the world" (cf.preface). A curious guide, probably one of the last to be published before the outbreak of the Pacific war. Very fine copy. Rare.

English language visitor's and tourist's guide to traditional and modern Japan, which includes South Manchuria Railways and Korea. "This booklet aims to give prospective visitors a short but faithful pictorial interpretation of present-day Japan, and a peep at the life of her people". Good to very good copy. (some rubberstamps of travel-agents, one of a japanese agent at Surabaya, Dutch East Indies).
