An original Handbill, issued by a group of left-wing students, occupying the administrative centre of Amsterdam Municipal University, UvA, in 1969. Demanding their right to participate in university-management. Calling upon the amsterdam working population for support and similar actions in ofther faculties, general offices, factories. Information was spread by Radio "De vrije Maagd" ("the liberated Virgin", paraphrasing the official name of the center). An interesting piece of memorabilia, ultimately leading to an administrative revolution in the Netherlands. Albough it has been quadruple folded, still in good condition. Rare.

S.I. [Amsterdam], s.n. [PROVO], 25 March 1966 Original printed A-4 sized Proto plamphlet (Verso blank) calling for peaceful co-existance between "Prototariaat" and "Klootjesvolk". ["Provokatie", Nr. 12].
Provo pamphlet calling for non-provocative actions agains Amsterdam municipal Police. PROVO Movement (1965-1972) was directed by a "playful Anarchist" group which combined non-violence and absurd humor to create social changes. The name Provo was coined by Dutch sociologist Buikhuizen to describe in a condescending way, post-war disaffected dutch teens who spent their time provoking the authorities. The Theatrical street happenings organized by the Provos attracted huge crowds and often resulted in over-reaction by the Police. The group found great symphaty among the Amsterdammers and at one point obtained five seats on the City Council. Its ideas influenced urban planning, social housing and cultural life in general. It campaigned against marijhuana prohibition, air pollution from urban traffic congestion, and the tobacco industry and it created numerous anti-royal events and literature.

An impressive poster, symbolizing the defeat of "Provo", by the dutch establishment. The so-called 'Provo-Movement', an Anarcho-political youths & student-movement, rebelling dutch establishment (the so-called "authorities", i.a. the Police, Clergy, Bankers...) with provocative actions, trying to move the dutch masses. A very good and well preserved copy of this poster. Rare. (some minor tears in folds skilfully restored with clear acid-free tape).

Illustrates a dutch house (a symbol of dutch conservative ideology) that, according to Provo ideilogy, should be destructed, not by force but by discussion, with a small illustration of a black bomb with burning fuse, whilst the roof is blown-up. Surrounded by bold monochrome text in Provo slang, printed in in various type.
Original illustrated Poster with phonetic and simplified Provo language, by which Amsterdam population is invited to a playful happening with debate about Provo concept of dutch society, taking place in speaker's corner, Provo clubhouse, 13 May 1967, Vonderlstraat-Amsterdam. Rhymed text in 10 stanzas, each four liners, set and printed by hand, within an elaborate decorative three-barred black border, large gilt coat-of-arms of Nijnemen municipality tooled in lower right margin, issue-number tooled in gilt at tail margin, verso blank. Together loose in its original black coloured limp paper portfolio with a large gilt hand-tooled ornament on front side.
Original Koppermaandag print, printed on fine thin delicate rag-paper, uncut issued by the "Hameland Guild" on Printers' Monday, January 11th, 1999 at Bredevoort Booktown, the Netherlands. Koppermaandag or Printers' Monday, is the third monday after Epiphany. The tradition goes back to the 15th century, maybe earlier, when Guild members gathered to receive the so-called Koppermaandagprent, printed by a master-printed. Limited and numbered edition of 50 copies only, our copy bears nr. 20. Very fine copy WITH the original portfolio preserved.

Title printed in bold black lettering at tail of poster, large coloured illustration of Jesus Christ sowing the seed of conversition dominating the illustrated area. Total size 120x90 cm. A large coloured lithographed poster announcing the dutch Roman Catholic Missionary Action Congress as held at the so-called "Paleis voor Volksvlijt", Amsterdam Municipality, from 5-13 November 1929. Designed by the famous dutch dry-needlepoint artist Lodewijk Schelfhout, 1881-1943. Artists'own copy retrevied from the estate of his late eldest daughter Albertine Maria Schelfhout. Few copies of this enormous poster will have survided. Still in good condition, altbouth a number of tears have been skilfully rebacked on blank verso of poster. Rare.

A very fine and original manuscript. (some minimal and unobtrusive pinprick holes due to gallic acid).

Belgian Medal designed by A. Rombaut, implemented by Belgian Goverment 6th February 1934. Presented to all Belgian soldiers serving at the Western Frontline, initially awarded the so-called "Vuurkaart". This medal is the second important Belgian Medal commemmorating the First World War after the Yzermedal. Very fine piece of Memorabilia. Rare.
